MasterDATA's Composite Plug-in for
MetaStock
and historical composite breadth datafiles on 31
major stock indexes and the 111 highest trade volume
ETFs.
As a non-subscriber, there is very little configuration
to the MasterDATAlink program. Download
lists can be configured for demonstration purposes, but cannot be saved
or executed. All download lists default to the historical composite breadth datafiles for the Dow Jones Industrial Average only.
Daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly data periods are available.
Although you will be limited to data for this one index, the data is
fully current and is
updated hourly throughout the
U.S. trade session. You may additionally set up automated
downloads using Windows Task Scheduler.
We hope that once you see the ease of keeping
your Dow Jones Industrial Average datafile up to date, you will want
to try out all 136 datafiles by subscribing.
If and when you do subscribe, click on the "General
Settings" tab. In the "User Type" section, select "Paid or Trial
Subscription". Then enter your MasterDATA
Composite Plug-in username and password.
Click on "Save Settings" and you are ready to go.
MasterDATAlink not only downloads the most current
composite breadth datafiles, but also takes care of any name conversions
needed to use either Reuters or eSignal index symbols and puts your
downloaded data in the proper directory. If you previously structured
your market analysis work linked to the file names originally used on
our web site, select "Original" in the "Data Vendor" section under the
"Download File Settings" tab. We recommend eventually integrating
to the new file names segregated in their own data period directories
(Daily, Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly). Following is an overview
of what you need to do to set up and use this program to download MasterDATA's
.csv datafiles.
"General Settings" This section describes configuring MasterDATAlink including
your "User Type" (whether or not you are a current subscriber)
and, if a subscriber, entering your current username and password
for access to all of MasterDATA's current composite breadth
datafiles.
Test Your Initial
Settings Before setting up your own download lists, use one of the
default download lists to make sure everything is functioning
and your username and password are entered correctly.
"Download File Settings" Step by step tutorials for setting up your own download lists.
When you are finished, you will easily accomplish setting up your
own lists under the "Download File Settings" tab.
Automate Your Download
Lists (optional) A step by step procedure for automating your downloads using
Windows Task Scheduler.
